Music | Audio | Visuals | Design | Tech
I am a musician at heart and an engineer by occupation. I have always been fascinated with sound and photography. Eventually, audio and video production turned into a personal endeavour.
Creating music was like writing stories, and I spent a good amount of time experimenting, arranging and creating instrumental songs.
Audio is fascinating. As I delved more into sounds and audio technology I was immediately drawn towards the intricacies and possibilities of sonic experiences. This, along with my interest in technology led me to pursue my Masters in Music & Media Technology at Trinity College, Dublin. Here, I was introduced to the world of Psychoacoustics, Spatial audio, Electroacoustic music, Audio engineering, Sonic production and Interactive audio-visual systems.
I was particularly drawn to live electronic systems for electroacoustic music performance and the richness of the sonic palette which extends much beyond music and organised sound. This opened up possibilities for creating interactive sonic spaces and as a continuation, a study of the design and development of these interactions. As part of my thesis, I explored the idea of ‘balance’ in audio and its relation to the posture of the human body.
The understanding of technology has become indispensable for a musician and audio-visual media creators. Tools can bring forth creative possibilities, and thus need to be understood. But more interestingly, possibilities can also bring new tools to life.
My enthusiasm lies in working at this periphery, where these worlds collide and blend. I am therefore always dabbling in sound design, user experience, interaction design, audio production and much more.
Please feel free to contact me for collaborations, information or even just a casual chat. I am always enthusiastic about meeting anyone who enjoys music and tech and has similar interests.
